Francisco Muñoz

Francisco Munoz is an Associate professor and the Department of Physics of the Sciences Faculty at the Universidad de Chile. He earned is PhD in physics at the Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Chile and he was a postdoc at the Max Planck Institute for Microstructure Physics at Halle, Germany. Dr. Munoz’s research is in condensed matter physics, but close to materials science.

Current areas of research:

· Quantum materials, such as topological insulators and van der Waals materials. He works with theoretical methods such as density functional theory and tight-binding models.
